Did you review the video entertainment system description and operation and perform the necessary inspection?

  1. Turn ON the ignition.
  2. Lower the screen of the video display.
  3. Press the power button on the DVD player. Insert a DVD and press the play button.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the rear seat entertainment system connector.
  2. Test the ground circuit of the rear seat entertainment system for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Test the battery positive voltage circuit of the rear seat entertainment system for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the rear video entertainment system. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the rear seat entertainment system. Refer to Video Disc Player Replacement .
