Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement 4.8 L, 5.3 L, and 6.0 L Engines

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 220621  Size: SH
  1. If necessary, remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L.
  2. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  3. Reposition the coolant air bleed hose clamp at the throttle body.
  4. Remove the coolant air bleed hose from the throttle body.

  5. Object Number: 492760  Size: SH
  6. If equipped with the 4 point pipe, reposition the hose clamp at the pipe.
  7. Remove the coolant air bleed hose (2) from the pipe (1).

  8. Object Number: 639610  Size: SH
  9. If equipped with the 2 point pipe, reposition the hose clamp at the pipe.
  10. Remove the coolant air bleed hose (2) from the pipe (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 639610  Size: SH
  1. If equipped with the 2 point pipe, install the coolant air bleed hose (2) to the pipe (1).
  2. Position the hose clamp at the pipe.

  3. Object Number: 492760  Size: SH
  4. If equipped with the 4 point pipe, install the coolant air bleed hose (2) from the pipe (1).
  5. Position the hose clamp at the pipe.

  6. Object Number: 220621  Size: SH
  7. Install the coolant air bleed hose to the throttle body.
  8. Position the coolant air bleed hose clamp at the throttle body.
  9. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  10. If necessary, install the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L.
  11. Add engine coolant, if necessary.
