Remove and inspect the auxiliary power fuse.

Is the fuse open?

  1. Disconnect the inoperative auxiliary power outlet.
  2. Probe the fused battery positive voltage circuit with a test lamp that is connected to a battery positive voltage circuit. Refer to Testing for Short to Ground .

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Reinstall the fuse.
  2. Disconnect the auxiliary power outlet.
  3. Probe the fused battery positive voltage circuit with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the fused battery positive voltage circuit of the auxiliary power outlet and the ground circuit of the auxiliary power outlet.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Repair fused battery positive voltage circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Wiring Repairs .
  2. Replace the fuse.

Repair the open in the fused battery positive voltage circuit between fuse and the auxiliary power outlet. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

  1. Replace the auxiliary power outlet.
  2. Replace the fuse.
