Removal Procedure

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

Important: After installation, calibrate the new electronic brake control module (EBCM) to the tire size that is appropriate to the vehicle.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  3. Object Number: 925574 Size: SH

  4. Thoroughly wash all contaminants from around the EHCU.
  5. Remove the mounting screws (1) that fasten the EBCM (2) to the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) (3).

  6. Object Number: 925878 Size: SH
  7. Remove the EBCM from the BPMV. Removal may require a light amount of force.
  8. Remove the EBCM from the vehicle.
  9. Clean the BPMV to EBCM mounting surfaces with a clean cloth.
