Answer No to the question below if the vehicle is not provided with a sunroof.

Does only the sunroof exhibit this symptom?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 3

1. Observe the following parameters in DDM, FPDM and BCM data list:

•	Driver Door Ajar Switch w/o DDM

•	Passenger Door Ajar Switch w/o PDM

•	Door Ajar Switch

•	Left Rear/Rear Cargo Door Ajar Switch

•	Right Rear Door Ajar Sw.

•	Cargo Door Ajar Switch

2. Open and close each door while observing the respective parameter.

Does the scan tool display change from On/Open to Off/Closed?

Go to Step 4

Go to Symptoms - Lighting Systems in Lighting Systems

1. Install a scan tool. Select diagnostic circuit check and then class 2 power mode.
2. Close all the doors.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
4. Wait 5 seconds then turn the ignition OFF.
5. Wait the time-out for retained accessory power (RAP).

Did the scan tool display the RAP power mode, then time-out and display Off-Awake power mode?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 11

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the sunroof relay.

Does the sunroof operate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Repair the short to battery in the sunroof relay switched output circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 13

1. Open any door.
2. Connect a test lamp across the relay coil circuits of the sunroof relay.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Test the sunroof relay control circuit for a short to B+. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 13

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the sunroof relay. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 13

Go to Step 10

Replace the sunroof relay.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 13

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the body control module (BCM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 13

Go to Step 12

Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Did you complete the procedure?
