Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Perform the sunroof re-initialization. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Synchronization .

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the sunroof switch harness connector.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the retained accessory power (RAP) relay switched output circuit at the sunroof switch harness connector and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

  1. Connect a fused jumper wire to the RAP relay switched output circuit at the sunroof switch harness connector.
  2. Observing the position of the sunroof glass, try to operate the sunroof system by connecting the other end of the fused jumper wire, at the sunroof switch harness connector, to either of the following:
  3. • The sunroof switch open/tilt down signal circuit
    • The sunroof switch close/tilt up signal circuit

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Step 11

Test the sunroof switch open/tilt down signal circuit for an open or a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 17

Test the sunroof switch close/tilt up signal circuit for an open or a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Connect the sunroof switch harness connector.
  2. Disconnect the sunroof motor harness connector.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the RAP relay switched output circuit at the sunroof module harness connector and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit at the sunroof motor harness connector and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit and ground circuit at the sunroof motor harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 12

Test the RAP relay switched output circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for a poor connections at the sunroof switch harness connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for a poor connection at the sunroof motor harness connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the battery positive voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the sunroof motor ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the sunroof switch. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement .

Replace the sunroof motor. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.
