Tools Required

1. Install the direct clutch to the transmission case.



2. Apply J 36850 to the thrust bearing and races.
3. Install the following components to the forward clutch:

•	The rear planetary ring gear thrust bearing race (3)

•	The thrust bearing (2)

•	The forward clutch No. 1 race (1)




4. Carefully install the forward clutch (1) to the transmision case in order to prevent dropping the thrust bearing and races.



5. Measure the height difference between the forward clutch (2) input shaft and the transmission case (1) using the J 26900-5 .

Specification
Forward clutch input shaft-to-transmission case height difference (standard): 3.0 mm (0.118 in)

Remove and reinstall if less than the specification.




6. Apply J 36850 to the forward thrust bearing and race.
7. Install the forward thrust bearing and race to the front of the forward clutch.
