The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

The following exchange program for the DVD systems on 03-05 Full Size Trucks and Utilities has been set-up for vehicles within the warranty period. This exchange program must be utilized when the diagnostic procedures in the Service Manual or the Electronic Service Information lead the technician to replacement of these units. Dealers will not be required to obtain a case number from GM Technical Assistance to request a pre-exchange unit from Model Electronics.

DVD Exchange units should be obtained by calling Model Electronics at 1-800-433-9657 and select prompt 3 for OEM Video Systems.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
