Evaporative Emission Hoses/Pipes Replacement - Canister/Fuel Tank 1500 Series - 5.3L (L59) Engine

Removal Procedure

Important: Clean all the fuel and evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe connections and surrounding areas before disconnecting the pipes in order to avoid possible fuel/EVAP system contamination.


    Object Number: 396067  Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  2. Disconnect and remove the EVAP pipe (1) from the roll over valve (3), sending unit (2) and retaining clips (6).
  3. Cap the sending unit, fuel tank roll over valve in order to prevent possible EVAP system contamination.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 396067  Size: SH
  1. Remove the caps from the sending unit, and fuel tank roll over valve.
  2. Install and connect the EVAP pipe (1) to the roll over valve (3), sending unit (2) , and retaining clips (6).
  3. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .

Removal Procedure

Important: Clean all evaporative emission (EVAP) line connections and surrounding areas prior to disconnecting, in order to avoid possible EVAP system contamination.

  1. Remove the rear fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the EVAP lines from the module. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  3. Cap the EVAP openings in order to prevent possible EVAP system contamination.

  4. Object Number: 1312085  Size: SH
  5. Remove the EVAP lines (1) from the retaining clips.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the EVAP lines (1) to the retaining clips.

  2. Object Number: 1372819  Size: SH
  3. Remove the caps from the EVAP openings.
  4. Connect the EVAP lines to the module. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  5. Install the rear fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
