The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

When a navigation radio warranty exchange is performed, the customer must also have a disc to operate the unit. If the customer's disc was damaged or stuck in the defective unit, there is an excessive time period for the customer to wait for their disc to be returned or replaced. The Electronic Service Centers (ESC) are not authorized to remove stuck navigation discs from cores, as the cores must be returned to the supplier for analysis prior to any disassembly. The time it would take for the supplier to return the navigation disc would significantly delay the repair completion time.

Recommendation/Instructions:

At the time of diagnosis, you determine that the customer needs a new navigation disc. If the current disc is damaged or cannot be removed, the dealer must call an Electronic Service Center (ESC) for a navigation radio. Then needs to call the Disc Center for the navigation disc. Both can be shipped overnight to the dealer upon request. The Disc Center can be reached at 1-877-NAV-DISC (1-877-628-3472).

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
