Remove the brake drum. Refer to Brake Drum Replacement . Inspect the brake linings, the brake drums, and the cam. Refer to Brake Drum Inspection .

1. Inspect the air brake anchor pins (14) for corrosion and wear. Replace the air brake anchor pins (14) if necessary.
2. Inspect the brake shoe rollers (7) for corrosion and wear. Replace the brake shoe rollers (7) if necessary.
3. Inspect the camshaft (12) for cracks, wear and corrosion. Replace the camshaft (12), if necessary.



4. Inspect the brake chamber/camshaft support bracket (8) for broken welds, cracks, and alignment. Replace any damaged brackets.
