Removal Procedure

  1. Block the wheels.

  2. Object Number: 161509  Size: SH
  3. Remove the brake rod retaining clip.
  4. Remove the brake switch and brake rod from the pedal.
  5. Remove the brake pedal pivot bolt and nut.

  6. Object Number: 793436  Size: SH
  7. Remove the brake pedal.
  8. Remove the brake pedal bushings and inspect the components.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the brake pedal bushings.

  2. Object Number: 793436  Size: SH
  3. Install the brake pedal.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the brake pedal pivot bolt and nut.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt and nut 25-35 N·m (18-26 lb ft).

  7. Install the brake switch and brake rod to the pedal.
  8. Install the brake rod retaining clip.
