Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement L18

Removal Procedure

    Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.

  1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.

  2. Object Number: 798041  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the hose from the pump.
  4. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.
  5. Remove the hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 798041  Size: SH
  1. Install the hose to the power steering pump.
  2. Install the hose to the power steering reservoir.
  3. Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Tighten the clamp.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).

  6. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement LB7, LLY and LMM

Removal Procedure

    Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.

  1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.

  2. Object Number: 826200  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the hose from the pump.

  4. Object Number: 798041  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.
  6. Remove the hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 798041  Size: SH
  1. Install the hose to the reservoir.
  2. Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Tighten the hose clamp.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).

  6. Install the hose to the power steering pump.
  7. Fill the power steering reservoir with fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  8. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Removal Procedure

    Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.

  1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.

  2. Object Number: 826197  Size: MH
  3. Disconnect the hose from the pump. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .

  4. Object Number: 798041  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.

  6. Object Number: 826195  Size: MH
  7. Disconnect the hose from the engine brackets.
  8. Remove the hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 826195  Size: MH
  1. Install the hose to the engine brackets.

  2. Object Number: 798041  Size: SH
  3. Install the hose to the power steering reservoir.
  4. Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.
  5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Tighten the hose clamp.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).

  8. Install the hose to the power steering pump.
  9. Fill the power steering reservoir with fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 826192  Size: SH
  1. Remove the straps securing the reservoir outlet hose.
  2. Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.

  3. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.

  4. Object Number: 826188  Size: MH
  5. Disconnect the hose from the pump. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .

  6. Object Number: 798041  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.
  8. Remove the hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 798041  Size: SH
  1. Install the hose to the power steering reservoir.
  2. Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Tighten the hose clamp.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).

  5. Install the hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .

  6. Object Number: 826192  Size: SH
  7. Install the straps securing the reservoir outlet hose.
  8. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
