Cause

Action

DEFINITION: The clutch pedal requires high effort to operate.

Review the Symptoms - Clutch and perform the necessary inspections.

Clutch cable kinked, cut, or damaged

  1. Inspect the clutch cable and routing.
  2. Route the cable for proper operation.
  3. Replace the clutch cable. Refer to Clutch Cable Replacement .

Clutch cable return spring

  1. Inspect for the correct cable return spring.
  2. Ensure the spring is properly installed. Refer to Clutch Return Spring Replacement .

Linkage requires lubrication

Perform the lubrication maintenance on the clutch linkage components.

Linkage interference

  1. Inspect for lines, hoses, or wiring harnesses interfering with the clutch linkage.
  2. Repair the lines, hoses, or wiring harnesses away from the clutch linkage.

Linkage worn or damaged

Replace the faulty linkage components.

Clutch disc worn too thin

Replace the clutch assembly. Refer to Clutch Assembly Replacement .
