Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement w/CTF

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  3. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe from the EGR adapter and the reservoir. Refer Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Replacement .
  4. Remove the power steering pipe clamp nuts and clamps at the valve rocker cover and the intake manifold.
  5. Reposition the power steering hoses.
  6. Remove the vent hose from the valve rocker cover and retainer.
  7. Clean the area around the valve rocker cover to the head cover mating surface.

  9. Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
  10. Remove the valve rocker arm cover and gasket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the valve rocker arm cover and gasket.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 736638  Size: SH
  3. Install the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 13 N·m (113 lb in).

  5. Install the vent hose to the valve rocker cover and retainer.
  6. Install the EGR pipe to the EGR adapter and the reservoir. Refer Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Replacement .
  7. Reposition the power steering hoses.
  8. Install the power steering hose clamps and fasteners to the valve rocker cover and the intake manifold.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  10. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
