Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 799712 Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle, if required. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. If not equipped with the ML6 transmission, remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement for the Medium Duty transmission.
  3. If equipped with an RPO ML6, remove the front transmission mounts. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement for the ZF S6-650 transmission.
  4. If equipped with the ML6 transmission, remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement for the ZF S6-650 transmission.
  5. If equipped with the ML6 transmission, remove the clutch housing bolts and brackets.
  6. If equipped with the ML6 transmission, remove the clutch housing adapter , if required.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 799712 Size: SH
  1. Install the clutch housing and brackets.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the flywheel housing adapter and bolts, if necessary.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the flywheel housing adapter bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  3. Install the clutch housing bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch housing bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  4. If equipped with RPO ML6, install the transmission mounts. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement for the ZF S6-650 transmission.
  5. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement for the ZF S6-650 transmission or to Transmission Replacement for the Medium Duty transmission.
  6. Lower the vehicle, if required.
