Removal Procedure
  1. Open the hood.

    2. Object Number: 1395827 Size: SH
  2. If equipped with a mass air flow (MAF) sensor, disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector.

    3. Object Number: 799723 Size: SH

    Notice: Handle the MAF/IAT sensor carefully. Do not drop the MAF/IAT sensor. Do not damage the screen located at the air inlet end of the MAF/IAT. Do not touch the sensing elements. Do not allow solvents and lubricants to come in contact with the sensing elements. Use a small amount of SPO P/N 12345884 lubricant or the soap based equivalent in order to aid in the installation.

  3. Loosen the tube clamp at the MAF sensor housing/air cleaner.
  4. Disconnect the air inlet tube from the MAF sensor housing/air cleaner.
  5. If required, remove the engine harness retainers at air cleaner bracket.
  6. If required, remove the heater hose retainers.
  7. If required, remove the air restriction gage tube.

  8. If equipped, remove the oil fill tube bolt from the air cleaner bracket.

    9. Object Number: 799724 Size: SH
  9. Remove four nuts, stud/bolt, and two bolts from the air cleaner bracket.
  10. Remove the air cleaner from the cowl.

    11. Object Number: 664847 Size: SH
  11. If equipped, loosen the duct clamp at the turbocharger and remove the air cleaner duct.
  12. Cover the intake openings to prevent contaminants from entering.

Installation Procedure
  1. Remove the protective caps prior to installation of the duct to air cleaner.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. If equipped, install the air cleaner duct to the turbocharger/intake.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  3. Install the air cleaner support bar to the cowl with four nuts, stud/bolt and two bolts.

    4. Tighten

        • Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
        • Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
        • Tighten the stud/bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  4. If equipped, install the oil fill tube to the air cleaner bracket.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. If required, install the heater hose retainers.
  6. If required, install the engine harness retainers.

    7. Object Number: 1395827 Size: SH
  7. If required, connect the MAF sensor electrical connector.
  8. If required, connect the air restriction gage tube.
  9. Connect the air inlet tube to the MAF sensor housing/air cleaner.
  10. Tighten the air inlet tube clamp.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
