Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Actuate a door lock switch to the lock and unlock positions

Did the driver door lock and unlock?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

1. Disconnect the driver door lock actuator.
2. Connect a test lamp between the door lock actuator lock control circuit at the driver door lock actuator harness connector and ground.
3. Actuate a door lock switch to the lock position.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 13

1. Connect a test lamp between the door lock actuator unlock control circuit at the driver door lock actuator harness connector and ground.
2. Actuate a door lock switch to the unlock position.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

1. Connect a test lamp between the door lock actuator lock and unlock control circuits at the driver door lock actuator harness connector.
2. Actuate a door lock switch to the lock and unlock position.

Did the test lamp illuminate in both positions?

Go to Step 12

Is the vehicle equipped with keyless entry?

Go to Step 7

1. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver.
2. Connect a test lamp to ground.
3. Probe the door lock relay unlock control circuit at the remote control door lock receiver harness connector.
4. Actuate a door lock switch to the unlock position.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 15

1. Connect a test lamp to ground.
2. Probe the battery positive voltage circuit at the remote control door lock receiver harness connector.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

1. Connect a test lamp to battery positive voltage.
2. Probe the ground circuit at the remote control door lock receiver harness connector.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the door lock relay. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 21

Inspect for poor connections at the remote control door lock receiver. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the driver door lock actuator. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Repair the open or short to ground in the door lock actuator lock control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs.

Did you complete the repair?

Did you find and correct the condition?

Repair the open or short to ground in the door lock relay unlock control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Repair the open in the battery positive voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Repair the open in the ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs.

Replace the door lock relay. Refer to Relay Replacement.
