Fuel Filter Replacement Primary

1. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
2. If equipped, disconnect the sensor from the filter.
3. If equipped, remove the water separator bowl.
4. Remove the fuel filter from the fuel filter head.




Important: If the fuel filter is plugged, inspect the fuel tank internally and clean if necessary. Refer to Fuel System Cleaning .

5. Inspect the fuel filter.

1. Install the fuel filter.
2. If equipped, install the water separator bowl.
3. If equipped, connect the sensor connector.
4. Inspect for leaks.

Fuel Filter Replacement Secondary

1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
2. Remove the fuel filter from the fuel filter head.

Important: If the fuel filter is plugged, inspect the fuel tank internally and clean if necessary. Refer to Fuel System Cleaning .

3. Inspect the fuel filter.
4. If required, disconnect the electrical connector.



5. If required, remove the fuel lines from the fuel filter head.
6. If required, remove the fuel filter head body and fuel filter head from the fuel filter head bracket.

1. If required, install the fuel filter head to the fuel filter head bracket with bolts.



2. If required, install the fuel lines to the fuel filter head.
3. If required, connect the electrical connector.
4. Install the fuel filter.
5. Inspect for leaks.
