Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement With CTF

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  3. Pull free the clip securing the harness to the flywheel housing.

  4. Object Number: 1401137  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) electrical connector.

  6. Object Number: 1401139  Size: SH
  7. Remove the bolt holding the CMP sensor.
  8. Remove the sensor from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect the sensor and the sensor O-ring for damage.
  2. • If the O-ring is damaged, replace the O-ring.
    • If the sensor is damaged, replace both the sensor and the O-ring.
  3. Apply clean engine oil to the sensor O-ring.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the sensor to the cylinder head.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the CMP sensor bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  7. Connect the CMP electrical connector.
  8. Secure the harness to the flywheel housing with the clip.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  10. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
