Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the PCM and set it aside. Refer to Powertrain Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2 L, or Powertrain Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 4.3 L.
  2. Important: Do not disconnect wiring harness to PCM.

  3. Remove the hose from the coolant recovery reservoir.

  4. Object Number: 3326  Size: SH
  5. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir retaining nuts.

  6. Object Number: 3327  Size: SH
  7. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir.
  8. Remove the coolant from the reservoir.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 3327  Size: SH
  1. Install the coolant recovery reservoir.

  2. Object Number: 3326  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Tighten the reservoir retaining nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the reservoir retaining nuts to 8-11 N·m (6-8 lb ft)

  5. Install the hose to the coolant recovery reservoir.
  6. Install the PCM. Refer to Powertrain Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2 L, or Powertrain Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 4.3 L.
  7. Add coolant to reservoir. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
