Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement .
  2. Remove the valve lifters. Refer to Valve Lifter Removal .
  3. Inspect the valve lifters and the valve lifter guide assemblies. Refer to Valve Lifters and Guides Cleaning and Inspection .
  4. If a valve lifter requires replacement inspect the camshaft. Refer to Camshaft and Bearings Cleaning and Inspection .

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the valve lifters. Refer to Valve Lifter Installation .
  2. Install the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement .
