Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air inlet duct (2.2L). Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2L.

  2. Object Number: 180301  Size: SH
  3. Remove the upper fan shroud screws.

  4. Object Number: 395858  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the coolant recovery reservoir hose from the lower fan shroud.
  6. Remove the upper fan shroud.

  7. Object Number: 382732  Size: SH
  8. Lift the lower fan shroud just enough to disengage the locating tabs from the radiator.
  9. Remove the radiator from the vehicle. Refer to Radiator Replacement .
  10. Remove the lower fan shroud from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement .
  2. Place the lower fan shroud in the vehicle.
  3. 2.1. Position the lower fan shroud against the radiator.
    2.2. Engage the locating tabs by pushing down.

  4. Install the upper fan shroud to the vehicle.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the upper fan shroud attaching screws.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  8. Connect the coolant recovery reservoir hose to the lower fan shroud.
  9. Install the air inlet duct (2.2L). Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2L.
