The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment that the Driver Information Center (DIC) is indicating that the Hood is Ajar despite the hood being closed and latched. Complaints of the Remote Vehicle Start (RVS) being inoperative my also be reported.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Root cause may be the hood latch switch wires being cut or chaffed allowing the wires to intermittently ground to the metal hood latch. If the hood latch switch wiring is cut or damaged, replace the hood latch.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
