The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may comment on a rattle buzz vibration noise that appears to be coming from the front of dash (I/P-bulkhead) area. Root cause may be the transmission dipstick tube vibrating against the front of dash due to the routing of the main engine harness which could push the dipstick tube rearward. If the transmission dipstick tube is too far rearward, it will contact the front of dash and vibrate or buzz causing a noise in the I/P area.

Recommendation/Instructions:

To correct the concern, remove the dipstick and bend it to the front and passenger side of the truck to provide additional clearance.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
