The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some owners may comment that intermittently the memory seat will not recall from their key fob, but will operate after using the memory 1 or 2 buttons on the driver's door panel or after using the other key fob. This concern will only occur after the power seat is manually adjusted using the power seat switch.

Recommendation/Instructions:

This is a normal operating characteristic of the memory seat. To regain memory seat recall from the key fob, press the appropriate memory button on the driver's door panel and the remote recall feature will be restored.

The following are two examples of how this feature works:

  1. If the owner allows a 2nd person (like a brother, sister, wife, husband, etc.) to drive the vehicle and they adjust the seat to their driving position by manually using the power seat switch. If the system did not disable the memory seat recall feature from the key fob, every time this driver uses the key fob to unlock the doors the seat would adjust back to the owner's memory position.
  2. If the owner has to temporarily move the seat forward to place an item in the second row area for example, if the system did not disable and they used the fob to unlock the doors the seat would move back to the memory position and crush the item in the 2nd row area.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
