The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment on one or all of the following items:

1. Auto Door locks will not lock when put in gear
2. Dome lamps stay on
3. RKE Remote verification Inoperative when locking doors (Horn chirp and/or Light flash)

If you experience one or all the following concerns, please check for an incorrect door jamb input. Each door has a door open and a door ajar input. The Tech 2 scan tool only shows one of the two door jam inputs for vehicles equipped with rear doors. This may be misleading when checking for an incorrect door jam input with the scan tool. Circuit 5922 for the rear door open signal can't be seen with the Tech 2 and must be manually checked with a DVOM.

Please note, when viewing the drivers and passengers door ajar and open inputs, please reference the door module that you are working with. Disregard the door ajar and open inputs parameters that are listed in the BCM.

If your vehicle is not equipped with door modules, then access the BCM (Doors data list) for the door ajar and open inputs parameters.

If you experience any of the above concerns and you vehicle is equipped with 4 doors, please check wiring at the drivers and passenger "B " pillar. Several reports from the field have found circuit 5922 (orange wire) pinched at the drivers or passengers side "B " pillar near the seat belt retractor.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
