The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may state that they're unable to change the clock setting after the battery has been disconnected or discharged. This concern could also occur after the radio has been removed for service.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Please do not replace the radio to resolve this concern.

The clock on the Navigation radio can only be set after the vehicle gets a Valid GPS signal to the radio. Once an initial GPS signal is received, the clock can be reset without a GPS signal.

Note: The radio is receiving a valid GPS signal when the GPS icon is displayed on the radio display without a red line displayed over the icon. You may have to drive the vehicle in an open area and wait at least 15 minutes to receive a valid GPS signal.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
