Rear Cup Holder Difficult To Open/Close - keywords bench bind console corrosion hard rust seat stick seized

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment that rear cup holder behind the center console on their 2007 full size pickup equipped with split bench seats (RPO AZ3) is difficult to open/close. Root cause appears to be rust on the cam follower (hinge) due to lack of preventive coating. New coating process has been implemented on 4/16/07.

Either lube or if necessary, replace the hinge assembly.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
