The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some owners may comment that after installing the GM Winter Cover on the front of their vehicle that the outside temperature reading is now inaccurate.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Do not replace the inside rear view mirror or outside temperature sensor for this concern. This is normal when the winter cover is installed because it restricts the air flowing to the engine compartment. Reference pages 8 and 9 of the Duramax Diesel Owner's Manual Supplement for more information (SI doc id 1825111).
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
