The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may state that the dome lamps are inoperative or the dome lamps stay on at all times and never time out. When following normal diagnosis, you may notice the concern leads to the Body Control Module (BCM).
Recommendation/Instructions:
Before installing a new BCM, check ground G201 for a loose or poor connection. Please repair any concerns with ground G201 before installing the new BCM.
Note: Anytime ground G201 has a poor or loose connection, It is possible for the main BCM ground to internally back feed through the BCM dome lamp circuits and cause internal damage to the BCM
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
