Equipped with 4L60E (RPO M30), 4L65E (RPO M32) or 4L70E (RPO M70) Automatic Transmission



The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may comment on a slip or flare that occurs on a 2-3 shift.

Recommendation/Instructions:

This condition may be caused by the 3-4 clutch feed hole being off location inside the input housing (621). If this hole is off location it can intersect the seal groove for O-ring (622) that is used to seal the input housing (621) to the forward clutch housing (628) and cause a leak of 3-4 clutch apply oil.

If this condition is found replace the input housing (621).

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
