The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
SERVICE VME
Some early built (prior to 11/1/06) 2007 MY all new LD crew cabs built at the Oshawa Assembly Plant (1 in VIN position # 11), may have been shipped without front license plate mounting bracket fasteners for those state requiring front license plates.
These fasteners can be ordered through GMSPO. The part numbers are: 11516807 (rivets) and 9423101 (bolts). Four rivets are necessary to fasten the mounting bracket to the fascia and the two bolts are used to attach the license plate to the mounting bracket.
Note: the bolts come five (5) to a package. A "T" -claim should be used to process expense related to these fasteners.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
