The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

You may experience one of the following concerns when programming the mileage or the hours into an exchange instrument panel cluster that is received from an electronic service center (ESC).

Recommendation/Instructions:

  1. The IPC setup must be done with pass-through programming only. If you select remote programming or select remote and then back up and go into pass-through programming, the IPC setup will not show up on the controller list. If this happens, you will need to back out of the TIS-2-Web application completely and then build the vehicle and select pass-through programming.
  2. When you receive the new IPC from the exchange center the mileage will be at zero. When the pop up screen appears for you to enter the mileage, you will notice that a zero is already in the mileage box. Before entering the mileage, you will have to hit the "Delete " key on the computer to erase the zero.
  3. Note: The "Back Space" key will not get rid of the zero.

  4. You may experience a message during the odometer programming that says "Not A New Controller". This will happen when the exchange center doesn't zero the mileage after repairing an IPC. If you Experience this concern, the only repair is to obtain another IPC from the exchange center.
  5. Once the mileage and hours are programmed, it can't be changed. If you make a mistake and save the incorrect mileage, you will have to get another IPC from the exchange center
  6. You may notice that the 2003-2005 H2 Hummer has been omitted from the bulletin. This is a misprint and the bulletin should cover the 2003-2005 model years for the H2 Hummer. When programming the mileage and the hours on a 03-05 H2 Hummer, you may notice that the "IPC Setup" is missing from the controller list even when pass-through programming was selected properly. The IPC setup will not appear on the controller list until Thursday 08/30/07. If a vehicle needs the mileage and hours programmed before this date, please contact Techline Support @ 1-800-828-6860

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
