Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the transfer case. Refer to Transfer Case Assembly Replacement .
2. Remove the transmission mount. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement for the 4L60-E/4L65-E/4L70-E automatic transmission, or Transmission Mount Replacement for the 6L50/6L80/6L90 automatic transmission , or Transmission Mount Replacement for the Allison automatic transmission.

Tip
Always use a new seal for the adapter. Do not use any type of sealant or adhesive in place of or with the seal.
