1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
2. Remove the oil filler tube.



3. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (1).



4. Remove the rocker arm cover bolts.
5. Remove and discard the rocker arm cover bolt grommets, if necessary.
6. Remove the rocker arm cover.



7. Remove and discard the rocker arm cover gasket.
8. Clean and inspect the rocker arm cover, if necessary. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Cleaning and Inspection.

Note: Do not reuse the cover gasket or the valve rocker arm cover bolt grommets.

1. Install a NEW rocker arm cover gasket.
2. Install NEW rocker arm cover bolt grommets, if necessary.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




3. Install the rocker arm cover.
4. Install the rocker arm cover bolts and tighten to 12 N·m (106 lb in).



5. Install the PCV hose (1).
6. Install the oil filler tube.
7. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
