Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  2. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve cooler assembly. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Replacement.
  3. Remove the right fuel injector feed pipes. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Right Side.

  4. Object Number: 1732190  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the fuel rail pressure (FRP) sensor electrical connector (1).
  6. Disconnect the right fuel feed pipe fitting from the fuel rail.

  7. Object Number: 1731515  Size: SH
  8. Remove the 2 fuel rail bolts and the fuel rail assembly.
  9. If replacing the fuel rail, remove the fuel pressure sensor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fuel pressure sensor to the fuel rail.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1731515  Size: SH
  3. Position the fuel rail assembly and install the 2 bolts and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
  4. Connect the right fuel rail feed pipe fitting to the fuel rail and tighten to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Object Number: 1732190  Size: SH
  6. Connect the FRP sensor electrical connector (1).
  7. Install the right fuel injector feed pipes. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Right Side.
  8. Install the exhaust gas recirculation valve cooler assembly. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Replacement.
  9. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming.
  10. Start the engine.
  11. If the engine does not start, repeat the above step.

  12. Inspect the fuel system for leaks.
  13. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
