Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

  2. Object Number: 2074813  Size: SH
  3. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  4. Remove the left rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Body Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  5. Remove the left rear corner garnish molding . Refer to Body Rear Corner Garnish Molding Replacement .
  6. Remove the air distribution duct upper. Refer to Auxiliary Air Distributor Duct Replacement - Upper .
  7. Remove the air distribution duct lower. Refer to Auxiliary Air Distributor Lower Duct Replacement .
  8. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the auxiliary HVAC module (1).

  9. Object Number: 301707  Size: SH
  10. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  11. Remove the cover from the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module.
  12. Remove the one retaining nut in order to remove the auxiliary evaporator underbody rear tube assembly from the core.
  13. Disconnect the heater lines from the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module.
  14. Remove the retaining nuts from the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module.
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Remove the auxiliary HVAC module.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the auxiliary HVAC module.
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the retaining nuts to the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the auxiliary heater retaining nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Connect the heater lines to the underside of the auxiliary heater.
  7. Install the one retaining nut to the auxiliary evaporator underbody rear tube assembly to the core.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  9. Install the cover to the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module.
  10. Lower the vehicle.

  12. Connect the electrical connectors to the auxiliary HVAC module (1).
  13. Install the air distribution duct upper . Refer to Auxiliary Air Distributor Duct Replacement - Upper .
  14. Install the air distribution duct lower. Refer to Auxiliary Air Distributor Lower Duct Replacement .
  15. Install the left rear corner garnish molding . Refer to Body Rear Corner Garnish Molding Replacement .
  16. Install the left rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Body Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  17. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  18. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
