Removal Procedure

  1. Block the drive wheels.

  2. Object Number: 2151568  Size: SH
  3. Remove the power brake booster pushrod retaining clip (1).

  4. Object Number: 2151569  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the stoplamp switch electrical connector.
  6. Disconnect the power brake booster pushrod and remove the stoplamp switch (1).

  7. Object Number: 2151573  Size: SH
  8. Remove the power brake booster nuts (1).

  9. Object Number: 2151575  Size: SH
  10. Remove the brake pedal bracket bolt (1).
  11. Remove the brake pedal assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2151575  Size: SH
  1. Install the brake pedal assembly.
  2. Loosely install the brake pedal bracket bolt (1).
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2151573  Size: SH
  4. Install the power brake booster nuts (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 36 N·m (27 lb ft).

  6. Tighten the brake pedal bracket bolt.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 36 N·m (27 lb ft).

  8. Apply a thin coat of high temperature lubricant, GM P/N 12345994 (Canadian P/N 10953501) to the brake pedal pivot pin.
  9. Install the stoplamp switch (1) and simultaneously connect the power brake booster pushrod.
  10. Connect the stoplamp switch electrical connector.

  11. Object Number: 2151568  Size: SH
  12. Install the power brake booster pushrod retaining clip (1).
  13. Rotate the power brake booster retaining clip 360 degrees to ensure the clip is fully engaged in the brake pedal pivot pin groove.
