J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

1. Remove the auxiliary HVAC module. Refer to Auxiliary HVAC Module Replacement .



2. Remove the screws from the lower HVAC case.
3. Seperate the lower case halves.



4. Remove the screws from the auxiliary HVAC module.
5. Separate the case halves.
6. Remove the evaporator core seal.
7. Remove the evaporator core from the auxiliary HVAC module.
8. Inspect the gaskets and the seals for damage.
9. Replace the gaskets and the seals.

1. Add refrigerant oil to the evaporator. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .



2. Install the evaporator core to the auxiliary HVAC module.
3. Install the evaporator core seal.
4. Reassemble the case halves.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

5. Install the auxiliary HVAC module screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (16 lb in).

6. Reassemble the lower HVAC halves.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




7. Install the lower HVAC case screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (16 lb in).

8. Install the auxiliary HVAC module. Refer to Auxiliary HVAC Module Replacement .
9. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A .
