Removal Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Engine Mounting Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 829685  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the front propeller shaft, 4WD vehicles only. Refer to Front Propeller Shaft Replacement in Propeller Shaft.
  4. Remove the engine mount to the frame mounting bolts through the wheelwell.
  5. Notice: When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack under the oil pan, any sheet metal, or crankshaft balancer. Jacking against the oil pan may cause it to crack or break.

    Important: Raise the engine only enough to permit removal of the engine mount.

  6. Raise and suitably support the engine using adjustable (screw type) jackstands.

  8. Remove the front engine mount to the engine mounting bolts through the wheelwell.
  9. Remove the rear engine mount to the engine mounting bolts from under the vehicle.
  10. Remove the engine mount from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 829673  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount to the vehicle.
  2. Install the rear engine mount to the engine mounting bolts from under the vehicle. Do not tighten at this time.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the front engine mount to the engine mounting bolts through the wheelwell.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount to engine mounting bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  6. Lower the engine.

  8. Install the engine mount to the frame mounting bolts through the wheelwell.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount to frame mounting bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  10. Install the front propeller shaft , 4WD vehicles only. Refer to Front Propeller Shaft Replacement in Propeller Shaft.
  11. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
