Turn ON each of the dome fluorescent work lamps.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Are all of the dome fluorescent work lamps inoperative?

Go to Step 5

Test the dome fluorescent work lamp signal and ground circuits for a high resistance, or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 21

Inspect the dome fluorescent work lamps fuse.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 15

Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit of the dome fluorescent work lamp relay, coil side and ground, and between the battery positive voltage circuit of the dome fluorescent work lamp relay, switch side and ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both positions?

Test for a ground signal at the dome fluorescent work lamps relay control circuit of the dome fluorescent work lamp relay.

Is a ground signal present?

Go to Step 10

Test for a ground signal at the dome fluorescent work lamp signal circuit of body control module (BCM).

Is a ground signal present?

Go to Step 9

Test the dome fluorescent work lamp relay control circuit for a high resistance, or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Connect a 3-amp fused jumper between the battery positive voltage circuit and the dome fluorescent work lamp signal circuit of the dome fluorescent work lamp relay.

Do the lamps illuminate?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the dome fluorescent work lamp relay. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect the inoperative bulb for an open filament.

Is the bulb OK?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the poor connection or an open in the battery positive voltage circuit of the dome fluorescent work lamp relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the short to ground in the dome fluorescent work lamp signal or the battery positive voltage circuit of the dome fluorescent work lamp relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
