For 1990-2009 cars only
- Apply pipe sealant GM P/N 12346004, (Canadian P/N 10953480), to the reverse block pin retaining bolt (1).
- Install the reverse block pin retaining bolt (1) through the case and into the reverse block pin (2).
- Install the shift shaft support bearing, if removed.
- Heat the housing area to 80°C (176°F) and press in the bearing.
- Install the snap ring.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tighten
Torque the retaining bolt to 10 N·m (7 lb ft).
Important: Install a new front mainshaft bearing, if removed.
Important: Install a new snap ring, if removed.
