- Place the separator plate with the new gasket in the lower valve body.
- Temporarily install two plate bolts (1).
- Install a new upper valve body gasket (1) to the lower valve body.
- Install the upper valve body gasket and the lower valve body together to the rear upper valve body.
- Handstart the 3 lower valve body bolts.
- Turn the lower valve body upside down.
- Handstart the 4 upper valve body bolts.
- Remove the 2 temporarily installed bolts.
- Install the lower valve body to the front upper valve body (2).
- Handstart the remaining three lower valve body bolts.
- Turn over the valve body assembly.
- Handstart the five front upper valve body bolts.
- Tighten the upper valve body bolts.
- Tighten the lower valve body bolts.
- Install the following components to the valve body (1):
Important: Torque sequence and specification is very important to valve body operation. If bolts are torqued at random, valve bores may become distorted and inhibit valve operation. DO NOT use air powered tools when assembling the valve bodies.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
