Makes 🢒 GMC_Truck 🢒 2004 🢒 Savana 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L 🢒 Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation - Right Side

    Object Number: 1272820 Size: SH
  1. Install NEW valve rocker arm cover grommets and use NEW valve rocker arm cover bolts if they are serviced with the grommet.
  2. Install a NEW cover gasket (504) into the valve rocker arm cover.

    3. Object Number: 824415 Size: SH
  3. Install the valve rocker arm cover onto the cylinder head.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the cover bolts with grommets.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

    Important: 

       • All gasket surfaces should be free of oil or other foreign material during assembly.
       • Do not use the valve rocker arm cover gasket again.
       • Do not remove the ignition coils and bracket from the valve rocker arm cover unless required.

  5. Insert the oil fill tube into the rocker arm cover.
  6. Install the oil fill cap into the tube and rotate clockwise until locked in the proper position.

    7. Object Number: 824414 Size: SH
  7. Apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489), or equivalent, to the threads of the bracket bolts.
  8. Install the ignition coil and bracket assembly and bolts.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coil and bracket assembly studs to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
