The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
The Security Light does not come on during a bulb check. The owner's manual states the Security light will turn on when the ignition key is turned to the run position and then stay on until the engine starts.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The owner's manual has incorrect information. The Security light will NOT come on during a bulb check. The only time the Security light will come on is when there is a concern with the theft deterrent system. The Tech 2 can also be used to turn the Security light on or off to verify lamp operation.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
