Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. This step tests for a short to ground in the signal circuit.

  2. This step tests for an open, for a high resistance, or for a short to voltage in the signal circuit. If the fuse in the jumper opens when you perform this test, the signal circuit is shorted to voltage.

Go to Step 6

4

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Connect a 3 ampere fused jumper wire between the signal circuit of the engine oil pressure gauge sensor and a good ground.
  3. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  4. Observe the engine oil pressure gauge in the IPC.

Does the engine oil pressure gauge display at or below the specified value?

0 psi (0 kPa)
