Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove the engine cover from vehicle. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.

  3. Object Number: 470641  Size: SH
  4. Remove the manifold pipe fastener from the fuel injection fuel rail stud.
  5. Remove the manifold pipe fasteners from the exhaust manifold.
  6. Disconnect the manifold pipe from the crossover pipe.
  7. Remove the manifold pipe/check valve as an assembly.
  8. Remove the check valve from the manifold pipe.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the check valve to the manifold pipe.
  2. Install the manifold pipe/check valve as an assembly to the crossover pipe.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the manifold pipe fasteners to the exhaust manifold.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the manifold pipe fastener to the fuel injection fuel rail stud.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  8. Install Air Cleaner Assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  9. Install Engine Cover to vehicle. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
