Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the pump electrical connector.
  3. Disconnect vacuum lines from the solenoid.
  4. Remove the pump/bracket assembly fasteners.
  5. Reposition the pump and bracket assembly to gain access to the outlet hose.
  6. Remove the outlet hose from the pump.
  7. Remove the pump and bracket assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Transfer parts as necessary.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Attach the pump and bracket assembly to the frame rail using the fasteners.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the pump electrical connector.
  6. Connect vacuum lines to the solenoid.
  7. Install the outlet hose to the pump.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
