Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir bolt and reposition the reservoir.
  2. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery negative terminal. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  4. Disconnect the battery positive cable from the battery positive terminal. Refer to Battery Positive Cable Replacement .
  5. Remove the battery limiter from the vehicle if equipped.

  7. Remove the battery hold-down bolt and retainer.
  8. Remove the battery.

  9. Object Number: 1202817  Size: SH
  10. Remove the battery tray bolts.
  11. Remove the battery tray from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1202817  Size: SH
  1. Install the battery tray to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the battery tray bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the battery tray bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the battery.
  6. Install the battery hold-down retainer and bolt.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the battery hold-down retainer bolt to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

  8. Install the positive battery cable to the battery with the battery terminal bolt.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the battery terminal bolt to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  10. Install the battery negative cable to the battery with the battery terminal bolts. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the battery terminal bolt to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  12. Install the coolant recovery reservoir.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
